The PT 500.15 kit can be used to simulate typical defects in gears in order to study their effects on vibration behaviour. Various gears with tooth defects are included for this purpose. Defect-free gears are also included for a comparative study. The gears provided have straight and helical teeth, which allows differences in their behaviour to be shown. Using movable bearing plates, the influence of their distance and tooth clearance can be studied.
