The RapidChek® SELECT™ Salmonella Test System combines proprietary primary culture medium with highly productive secondary enrichment and a state-of-the-art lateral flow device with a proprietary antibody mixture to enable rapid, accurate and easy detection of Salmonella.
Time to result: 22 to 30 hours (processing environment), 32 to 44 hours (farm environment). The supplement is stored at a temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C.
Características
- The RapidChek® SELECT™ Salmonella Test System utilizes a novel application of bacteriophages (or phages) into the medium to act as selective agents, improving both the specificity and sensitivity of the overall method.
- Phages are bacterial viruses that attack cross-reactive bacteria, preventing them from causing a false positive reaction (specificity).
- Phages also attack competitive bacteria, allowing for a medium formulation that creates optimal conditions for rapid growth of Salmonella (susceptibility).
- This proprietary media system is used in combination with a state-of-the-art RapidChek® SELECT™ lateral flow detection device.
- Contains a proprietary panel of anti-Salmonella antibodies designed to improve overall method performance. RapidChek® SELECT antibody reagents have been tested against one of the most comprehensive panels of bacterial isolates in the industry.
- When the test strip is inserted into the enrichment, the sample moves up the strip by capillary action. After 10 minutes, if Salmonella is present in the sample, a red line will form. One line indicates a negative result. Two lines indicate a positive result. There is a control line built into the lateral flow strip so you know the test has worked properly. Test kits are stored at room temperature.
